This workshop includes:
A brief opening flow and drills to activate and prepare the body for inversions
Three inversions: Headstand, Forearm stand, Handstand
Variations of these inversions for all-levels of practitioners to grow their practice
Use of the wall and partner work, with some individual practice
Tips and tricks for accessing and holding inverted poses
Understanding of physical alignment, muscular engagement, and the role of the breath in each inversion pose
Building communication and trust with yourself
Inversions are some of the most beneficial, yet feared, postures that bring equilibrium to many systems of your body. Physically, inversions strengthen our shoulders, arms, and core, and trains our whole body to work as a unit. Mentally, going upside down teaches us the art of shifting our viewpoint as we propel us past our fears into a whole new realm of possibility.
After this workshop, you will have gained the knowledge, confidence, and experience to safely and effectively practice a variety of inversions on your own and in yoga classes.
